Overview: Drak'ar Desert

Did we miss anything in this section? Is there something we didn't discover? Let us know!

1 - Kimal

Kimal (#1) will tell you that during the last attack of the jackals against the oasis, one of the jackals fell into the well and poisoned it. She'll then ask you to speak to the shaman Pak'mun in Kehar (#1a), and to request from him a potion that will remove the remains of the jackal. If you agree to this request, then you'll receive two quests: "Water Pollution" (to remove the taint from the well) and "Find Pak'mun" (to speak to Pak'mun).

When you reach Pak'mun, he'll tell you that he needs a Scorpion Poison Gland to complete the potion. There are lots of scorpions in the desert, so finding such a gland should be easy. When you give one to Pak'mun, he'll reward you with the Depoisoner potion, and you'll also receive some experience. Then when you return to Kimal, she'll use the potion to remove the jackal, you'll receive some gold and experience.

Note: If you have not yet spoken to Thilatus (#2) or Prantax (#3), then Kimal will also give you the quest "Talk to Ari Aldamor" (to learn more about dragons). You'll find Ari nearby in the desert (#4).

2 - Thilatus

Thilatus (#2) will give you the quest "Shakal Attack." He'll offer you a large bounty if you can kill all of the jackals in a camp to the southeast (#2a). Jackals (aka varns) are pretty easy to kill, so you shouldn't have any trouble eliminating them. For your reward, you'll receive 1 skill point at the time of the deed, and then when you return to Thilatus you'll receive some experience. So much for the bounty.

Note: If you have not yet spoken to Kimal (#1) or Prantax (#3), then Thilatus will also give you the quest "Talk to Ari Aldamor" (to learn more about dragons). You'll find Ari nearby in the desert (#4).

3 - Nahat

Nahat is a small oasis. You'll find two shopkeepers here, and you'll also meet Prantax, who will give you the quest "Crystal Search." He'll tell you about the great white dragon that rules the desert, and he'll let you know that if you collect enough crystals and deposit them at the Dragon's Lair (#5), then the dragon will appear, and you'll be able to test your mettle against it.

Note: If you have not yet spoken to Kimal (#1) or Thilatus (#2), then Prantax will also give you the quest "Talk to Ari Aldamor" (to learn more about dragons). You'll find Ari nearby in the desert (#4).

Prantax will tell you that "you'll find crystals all over the desert at the foot of the big stones," but this is sort of misleading. You're not looking for special quest items; you're just looking for Sulfur, which you'll indeed find on the ground in a few places in the desert (generally at named sites and at varn camps).

When you take enough Sulfur to the lair, the white dragon will appear. Sadly, you'll probably find it to be easier to kill than sand dragons and stone dragons, and it shouldn't take too much effort to end its reign. When you do, you'll earn 3 skill points, and that's how the quest will end.

Note: Completing Prantax's quest will prevent you from completing Ari's quest (#4), since they both involve killing the white dragon.

4 - Aldamor's Hut

You'll meet Ari Aldamor here. He'll give you the quest "The Dragon Whisperer." He'll tell you that the great white dragon that rules the desert got its power by stealing the eggs of the other dragons, and that if Ari were to learn where those eggs are hidden, then he might be able to remove the white dragon from power.

You'll find the eggs at the white dragon's nest, located south of the desert in the Dead Forest. It's at the same spot as the Air Element (which means that it'll be marked on your map), and so it should be easy to find. After visiting the nest, when you return to Ari, you'll earn some experience, and he'll contact the other dragons. The other dragons will then kill the white dragon, and that will end the quest.

Note: Completing Ari's quest will prevent you from completing Prantax's quest, since they both involve killing the white dragon. Prantax's quest is the better one to complete, since it will allow you to face the dragon yourself.

5 - Dragon's Lair

6 - Caves

You'll discover a bunch of underground caves in the desert. None of them are required for any quests, so you can explore them and kill the mummies and skeletons and orcs inside as much as you'd like.
