Task: Find Solution to Strike Deadlock

Walkthrough

If you exhaust all conversation options with Evrart Claire (#1) throughout the game, then eventually he'll reveal that he wants a war with the Wild Pines Group so he can take the harbor away from them. Meanwhile, after you've triggered the task Ask about Ruby in the Village, Joyce Messier will move her boat from the pier in Martinaise East (#2) to the jetty next to the fishing village in Martinaise West (#3), where she'll keep it until you've triggered the task Return to the Whirling-in-Rags (aka the mercenary tribunal). If you talk to Joyce while she's in Martinaise West, and if you tell her about Claire's plan, then she'll decide to let him have the harbor. This will complete the task and earn you 70 xp. Joyce will then sail away.

Note: Completing this task will also unlock the thought The Insulindian Miracle.
