Task: Inspect the Window in Klaasje's Bedroom

Did we miss anything in this task? Is there something we didn't discover? Let us know!

Background

You'll trigger this task after completing the task Return to the Whirling-in-Rags (aka the mercenary tribunal).

Walkthrough

If you didn't arrest Klaasje, then as you walk through her apartment on your way to her bedroom, you'll discover that she left you a note (#1) -- a short, hurried message where she'll apologize for lying to you -- while still maintaining her innocence, of course -- and where she'll also indicate that she left you a gift upstairs. Then when you reach Klaasje's bedroom, you'll see that the gift is a red thread showing the trajectory of the bullet. This gift will make the task easier.

Note: This task is a companion task to Determine Where the Shot Came From. If you neglected to trigger that other task earlier, then you'll have to trigger it now before working through this task. The red thread will make it easier to pass the Visual Calculus check necessary to start the other task.

When you examine the window in Klaasje's bedroom (#2), you'll see the three possible points of origin for the shot that killed the hanged man. These are the points you worked out during the task Determine Where the Shot Came From. If you have the red thread available, then you'll use it to figure out that the shot came from the Island. Otherwise, you'll first have to progress far enough in Determine Where the Shot Came From so that the Island is the only point remaining. Either way, you'll decide that you should visit the Island. This will complete the task and earn you 10 xp, and also trigger the task Go to the Island.
