Overview

1 - REPCONN Test Site

2 - Scorpion Gulch

You'll encounter lots of scorpions in the gulch, including bark scorpion hunters and giant radscorpions. In the center of the gulch, by a boulder, you'll find the corpse of a wastelander. The corpse will have some random gear on it, plus a Sunset Sarsaparilla Star Bottle Cap. The gulch is also involved in the mini-quest "Missing Laser Pistol," which is triggered in Hidden Valley.

4 - Gibson Scrap Yard

At this location you'll meet Old Lady Gibson and her six dogs Audaz, Basura, Colmillo, Fiel, Reina, and Rey. Gibson will sell you a variety of items, and she's also involved in the quests Come Fly with Me, ED-E My Love, and Nothin' but a Hound Dog. You won't find much of interest inside the scrap yard or the attached garage, other than some Thrust Control Modules (in an "average" locked metal box in the garage), which you'll need for the quest Come Fly with Me.

Note: If you kill Old Lady Gibson, then you'll find Big Boomer and Old Lady Gibson's Key on her corpse. The key unlocks the metal box in the garage.

Slightly to the west of the scrap yard, you'll discover Gibson's Shack. Inside you'll find some booze and meds, a Finger (on the Machete stuck in the wall), and a comm station terminal. The Finger isn't used in anything. The terminal is involved in the quest I Could Make You Care.


5 - Southern Nevada Wind Farm

Inside the shack here you'll find a workbench, a Weapon Repair Kit (in a shelf), a Sunset Sarsaparilla Star Bottle Cap (on a table), and a copy of Dean's Electronics (on the same table).


6 - Abandoned BoS Bunker


7 - Camp Forlorn Hope


8 - Ranger Station Delta


9 - Cazador Nest


10 - El Dorado Gas & Service

Inside the service station here, you'll find a Sunset Sarsaparilla Star Bottle Cap (on the counter next to the cash register), two ammunition boxes, and a gun case. In the attached garage, you'll find some Hydra (on the ground next to the makeshift bedding). Sometimes you'll encounter Viper gang members here, and sometimes they'll get killed by traveling merchants.


11 - El Dorado Dry Lake

You won't find anything of interest here other than a group of fire ants.

14 - Black Rock Cave


15 - Black Mountain

16 - Neil's Shack

This is where you'll meet a friendly super mutant named Neil. He'll give you the quest Crazy, Crazy, Crazy. You'll also find a couple of Frag Grenades in the shelf here, plus a bed you can sleep on.


17 - Junction 15 Railway Station


18 - NCR Ranger Safehouse


19 - Ant Mound

You'll find the entrance to the ant mound inside a barn. Outside the mound, you'll encounter a handful of fire ants, including some fire ant soldiers. You'll also find several ant refuse piles (with minor random loot inside), plus an ammunition box and a grenade box on the upper level of the barn.

Inside the mound, you'll encounter a few more fire ants, including a giant ant queen in the back. Near the queen, you'll find some more ant refuse piles and a couple of dead wastelanders, but the corpses probably won't contain anything useful.


20 - Allied Technologies Offices

Outside the offices, you'll usually encounter roving bands of fiends. Inside the offices, you'll get attacked by several giant soldier ants, but you'll find a copy of True Police Stories (in an end table in the reception area), two Sunset Sarsaparilla Star Bottle Caps (on a desk in the office), a copy of Tales of Chivalrie (in a shelf in the break room), and a copy of Tales of a Junktown Jerky Vendor (on the floor next to the Nuka-Cola vending machines in the break room).

Next door to the offices (to the east), you'll discover an abandoned warehouse. It's involved in the quest Birds of a Feather. Outside of that quest, you won't find much of interest inside the warehouse, just some booze and Empty Sunset Sarsaparilla Bottles.


21 - Cassidy Caravans Wreckage

You'll discover an ash pile and a pack brahmin here, but you probably won't find anything exciting on them. This location is involved in the quest Heartache by the Number.


22 - REPCONN Headquarters

23 - Grub n' Gulp Rest Stop

At this spot you'll meet Fitz, who will sell you food, and Lupe, who will sell you water. You'll also find some makeshift bedding that you can sleep on, a campfire, a Sunset Sarsaparilla Star Bottle Cap (on a plate on a picnic table), and a copy of Salesman Weekly (on a different picnic table).


24 - Follower's Outpost

Inside the outpost you'll meet Doctor Alvarez plus two Followers Doctors and two Followers Guards. None of these NPCs will have much to say to you unless you're working on the quest I Could Make You Care.

27 - Mountain Shadows Campground

At this location you'll discover some wrecked cars, campers, and picnic tables. If you examine the picnic tables, then you'll find a Sunset Sarsaparilla Star Bottle Cap, a copy of Today's Physician, and a copy of Lad's Life (on a picnic table to the southeast past a guard rail). The blue car to the northwest will pop up into the air if you touch it.


28 - Deserted Shack

You won't find anything here other than a radio and a pouch of Healing Powder.


29 - 188 Trading Post

36 - Lake Mead Cave

You'll find the entrance to this cave underwater (near a sunken boat). In the front part of the cave, you'll find two first aid boxes, two ammunition boxes, and three crates of Sunset Sarsaparilla. In the back part of the cave, on the southern side, you'll find an ammunition box, a copy of Lad's Life, and three suitcases containing lots of Pre-War Money. Since most of the cave is underwater, it's a good idea to pick up the Rebreather (possibly gained during the quest Volare) before trying to explore it.


37 - Crashed B-29

You won't find anything here other than a crashed B-29 bomber (on the bottom of the lake). The bomber is involved in the quest Volare!


38 - Scavenger Platform

You'll probably encounter a few lakelurks on the platform, but you'll also find a campfire, three ammunition boxes, a Sunset Sarsaparilla Star Bottle Cap (in a shelf), and a Wasteland Survival Guide (in an overturned shelf).

A short ways to the west of the platform, on the bottom of the lake, you'll discover a crashed Sunset Sarsaparilla truck. In and around the truck, you'll find several bottle caps (including three Sunset Sarsaparilla Star Bottle Caps), lots of Empty Sunset Sarsaparilla Bottles, and over a dozen Sunset Sarsaparilla crates (some containing Sunset Sarsaparilla).


39 - Fisherman's Pride Shack

Inside the shack here you'll find a BB Gun and some BBs (in a shelf), a Sunset Sarsaparilla Star Bottle Cap (on the table), and a copy of Pugilism Illustrated (on the nightstand).


40 - Callville Bay

At this location you'll probably encounter lots of cazadors, but you'll find a first aid box, an ammunition box, and two doses of Antivenom (in a boat in the boat house); and a first aid box, an "average" floor safe, a copy of Lad's Life, and two Sunset Sarsaparilla Star Bottle Caps (in Captain Dean's rental office).


41 - Camp Guardian / Guardian Peak


42 - Lonesome Drifter

Next to the billboard here, you'll meet the Lonesome Drifter. He carries an Acoustic Guitar and the Mysterious Magnum, and he's involved in the quest Talent Pool.
