Overview

Note: Just to the south of Sloan, under the overpass, you'll find a Bright Follower corpse with a Laser Pistol.


1 - Southern Guard Post

This is where you'll meet Chomps Lewis. Chomps will give you some background information on the town, and he'll also warn you about deathclaws to the north. This is a warning you should heed. Deathclaws are tough, and they'll kill you easily early in the game.

If you pickpocket (or kill) Chomps, then you'll find a Note to Tyrone in his inventory. This note can play a role in the quest Don't Make a Beggar of Me.


2 - Northern Guard Post

On the table here, you'll find two dozen 12 Gauge Rounds and a set of Binoculars. Binoculars are considered a weapon in the game (and are quipped like one, too), but they'll allow you to zoom in the view.


3 - Snuffles

Snuffles is a tame mole rat. If you have at least 30 Medicine, then you'll be able to heal his leg and earn 30 xp. If you tell Chomps about this deed, then you'll gain some NCR fame.


4 - Worker Barracks

Inside the barracks you can steal a copy of Dean's Electronics (from the shelf with the Dino Toys) and a copy of Duck and Cover! (from the locker at the end of the room), plus some other odds and ends.


5 - Mining Office

On the upper floor of the office, you'll find a safe with an "average" lock and some random loot inside, plus two trunks containing hundreds of caps.


6 - Machine Shop

Inside this building you'll find a workbench and a variety of crafting supplies.


7 - Mess Hall

Inside the mess hall you'll meet Jas Wilkins. She'll sell you some basic food items, and she'll ask you to bring her a Deathclaw Egg. If you do, then she'll cook you a Wasteland Omelet, and she'll also teach you the recipe so you can make them yourself.

Also in the mess hall, you'll find a Sunset Sarsaparilla Star Bottle Cap on one of the tables.
