Location: Lucky 38 Casino

Did we miss anything in this section? Is there something we didn't discover? Let us know!

Overview

The Lucky 38 Casino is located in the northern section of the New Vegas Strip.

1 - Money Room (Lower Level) / VIP Lounge (Upper Level)

Inside the money room you'll find lots of Pre-War Money, drugs, and ammunition. You'll also probably find at least three Laser Pistols. In the VIP Lounge, you'll find a set of Golden Gloves (in a shelf), a copy of Boxing Times (behind the gloves), and a "hard" locked terminal. The terminal is involved in the quest The Moon Comes over the Tower.

2 - Jane

Jane will purchase snow globes from you for 2000 caps each. Each snow globe you sell will end up on a display case in the presidential suite (#12). You won't get any extra reward for selling all of the snow globes (other than an achievement). For a list of the snow globes locations, click here.

3 - Display Screens

This is where you'll talk to Mr. House (or perhaps Yes Man, depending on your route to the end of the game). Mr. House is involved in the quests For the Republic, Render unto Caesar, The House Always Wins, The Moon Comes over the Tower, and Wild Card.

4 - Terminal

If you hack the terminal's "hard" security, or if you have the Platinum Chip or the Lucky 38 VIP Keycard, then you'll be able to use the terminal to open up the antechamber leading to the actual Mr. House (#6). However, opening the antechamber will cause all of the securitrons in the casino to turn hostile, and you'll fail the quest The House Always Wins. Only do this if you plan to kill Mr. House.

5 - Terminal

You can use this terminal to remove Mr. House from his life support chamber (#6), and then either kill him or disconnect him from his mainframe computers.

6 - Mr. House

This is where you'll meet what's left of Mr. House. If you kill him or disconnect his cerebral cortex (at #5), then you'll trigger and fail the quest "The House Has Gone Bust!" but you'll earn 500 xp. As far as we're aware, there isn't any way to complete the quest.

7 - Snow Globe / Safe (Inner Ring)

You'll find the Snow Globe - Test Site behind the cash register on the counter here. Nearby on the floor (to the southeast), you'll find an "average" safe with a Plasma Defender, a Stealth Boy, and more inside

8 - True Police Stories (Middle Ring)

You'll find a copy of True Police Stories on the table here.

9 - Magazines (Outer Ring)

You'll find a copy of Boxing Times and Future Weapons Today on the table here.

10 - Briefcase (Outer Ring)

Inside this "hard" locked briefcase, you'll find three C-4 Plastic Explosives, a Detonator, a copy of La Fantoma, and more.

11 - Upgrade Terminal

You'll be able to use this terminal to purchase various upgrades (mostly new containers) for the presidential suite. Unfortunately, the terminal interface will stay up behind the store interface and get in the way. To correct this problem, click on the terminal's power button, located near the bottom of the screen. Along with purchasing items, you'll also be able to sell things to the terminal.

12 - Snow Globe Display Case

All of the snow globes you sell to Jane (#2) will appear on the display case here.

13 - Future Weapons Today

You'll find a copy of Future Weapons Today in the shelf here.

14 - Today's Physician

You'll find two copies of Today's Physician inside the presidential suite (one on a table and one on a desk).

Exits:
  1. Exit to the New Vegas Strip. The first time you exit the casino, an NCR trooper will come running up to you with a message from Ambassador Crocker (which will lead to you receiving the quest Things That Go Boom), and you'll gain some fame on the Strip.
  2. Central elevator. This elevator will let you move between the Casino, the Cocktail Lounge, the Presidential Suite, and the Penthouse, but you'll only be able to access the Cocktail Lounge and the Presidential Suite after speaking to Mr. House (#3). You might need to talk to Victor to use the elevator.
  3. Control room elevator. This elevator will move you between the Penthouse and the Control Room. You'll only be able to use this elevator if you hack the "hard" terminal next to it.
