Walkthrough

For this quest you'll need to confront Benny, the man who shot you and stole the Platinum Chip from you at the start of the game. You'll find Benny in The Tops Casino in the New Vegas Strip (#2). You'll have three ways to deal with him:
  • You can simply attack Benny when you see him. This will cause Benny, his four bodyguards, and all of the Chairmen in the casino to turn hostile towards you, and you'll have to kill them all.

  • You can negotiate with Benny. If you have the Black Widow perk, then you'll be able to seduce Benny (in sort of a funny conversation), and he'll give you the key to his suite (#3). When you meet with him there, you'll be given the option of sleeping with him and / or killing him. If Benny survives the encounter, then he'll leave for the Fort in the morning, but he'll leave you a note thanking you for the "hey-hey" you shared.

If you don't have the Black Widow perk, then Benny will suggest that you meet with him in the presidential suite (via Exit C) so the two of you can talk in private. If you pass a Speech 60 check, then you'll convince Benny to enter the suite with you and leave his bodyguards behind. Otherwise (including passing a Barter 35 check that will earn you 500 caps), Benny will promise to follow you up in a couple of minutes.

For the first case (Benny arrives with you), Benny will try to negotiate a truce with you, and he'll even pay you 250 caps as a retainer on your services. However, as soon as Benny leaves the suite, his bodyguards will charge in and attack you, and he'll flee to the Fort. You can also attack Benny in the suite.

For the second case (Benny promises to follow), Benny will never show up, and when you approach the exit, he'll tell you (over an intercom) that he "outplayed" you. If you pass a Speech 35 and Speech 50 check, then you'll be able to convince Benny to leave you alone; otherwise his bodyguards will charge in and attack you. Either way, Benny will flee to the Fort.

  • You can try to turn the Chairmen against Benny. To do this, you'll need to convince Swank (#1) that Benny is up to no good. You'll have two options for this:

As long as you pass two of the Speech checks or have two of the pieces of evidence, then Swank will give you your weapons back, and he'll prevent the Chairman from attacking you should you get into a fight with Benny. If you pass all three Speech checks or find all three pieces of evidence, then Swank will give you the key to Benny's suite (#3), and perhaps ask you to search it for clues, but from this point on you'll basically have to follow one of the first two options for confronting Benny, and either attack him or negotiate with him. The difference is that taking this route will make the encounter easier, since you'll have your weapons and you won't have to worry about fighting the entire casino.
Regardless of how you choose to confront Benny, one of two things will happen: you'll kill Benny and find the Platinum Chip (plus Maria and Benny's Suit) on his corpse, or Benny will flee to the Fort, and you'll learn of his plans from Yes Man (#4). Either result will complete the quest and earn you 1000 xp.
