Background

When you enter the NCR storage room in Camp Searchlight (#1), you'll meet a prospector named Logan there. He'll ask you to hack the computer in the room and track down some missing Radiation Suits. If you do this and tell Logan that the suits must be near Nipton (which you'll learn from Log Entry #2257 on the terminal), then he'll give you this quest.


Walkthrough

In Nipton, you'll meet a crippled Powder Ganger named Boxcars in the general store. If you talked to Boxcars earlier in the game and completed his quest Booted, then he might not have any new dialogue for you, and you won't be able to advance the quest. To correct this (on the PC), you can reset the quest Booted by typing the command "resetquest 131E7C" in the console. If everything goes as it should, then Boxcars will tell you that he saw some Legion soldiers carrying crates to a cave to the north.

At the Hidden Supply Cave (located east of the Coyote Den to the north), you'll find a Radiation Suit Package sitting inside a footlocker (even if you looted the cave earlier). When you deliver the package to Logan, he and the other two prospectors will put on Radiation Suits, and they'll follow you to the police station.

Inside the police station (#2), Logan will ask you to find "anything branded by the NCR related to weapons, computers, or radios." You'll find ten things: an NCR 10mm Pistol (on a desk in the lobby), an NCR 9mm Submachine Gun (on the floor in a jail cell), two NCR Computer Parts (both in desks in the office room), three NCR Frag Grenades (all in a shelf in the storage room), an NCR Grenade Rifle (sitting on a crate in the storage room), and two NCR Radio Parts (both in desks in the office room). After finding these items, when you talk to Logan again, he'll give you the key to the fire department, and he and the other two prospectors will begin following you again.

Inside the fire department (#3), you'll get attacked by a radscorpion queen, and Logan will ask you to find ten more NCR items: an NCR 10mm Pistol (on a table in the dining hall), an NCR 9mm Submachine Gun (in a shelf in the fire chief's office), four NCR Computer Parts (all in duffle bags in the barracks), two NCR Frag Grenades (both in a shelf in the fire chief 's office), and two NCR Radio Parts (both on an end table in the barracks). When you bring these items to Logan, he'll thank you for your help, and then he and the other two prospectors will attack you. The battle should not be difficult, and afterwards you'll find Radiation Suits, regular versions of the NCR gear you tracked down (for example, Frag Grenades instead of NCR Frag Grenades), and more on the corpses. You'll also earn 250 xp.
