Meldanen's Sanctum

1 - ENTRANCE FROM MELDANEN'S ESTATE

Use the stairs from here to return back to Meldanen's Estate.


2 - MALDANEN APPRENTICE

Yet another Apprentice, as always the trick is to get in fast and interrupt his spells. There are several bags/boxes to loot in this room so at least he is worth the fight.


3 - MELDANEN & DRYAD

As soon as you try to free the Dryad, Meldanen will appear and attack you. Once you beat him good enough he will surrender and you can have a chat with him. For that you will be rewarded with 120 experience points. You can then decide what to do with him but no matter if you choose to let him leave or kill him remember to ask him for the master key to his warehouse for Formosa's Quest. If you decide to kill him he will also drop his silver tooth and his Staff, the Staff of Meldanen.

The alchemist Apparacatus contains a vial of Dragon Blood and in the cabinet nearby you will find the Silver Chalice of Moonbow which is the quest item for Linu in this chapter. See our henchmen section for more information.

You can then go and talk with the Dryad and she will let you know that Meldanen first wanted to hurt her in an effort to find a cure so she had to use her charms on him. You can ask her to accompany you to Lady Aribeth but she will give you a lock of her hair instead. The lock of her hair is only needed for the cure and for that you will be rewarded with 200 more experience points.

If you are not nice to the dryad she will eventually attack you and you will have to kill her to get the hair. However doing so will result in an alignment shift of 7 points towards evil.
