Cargo Ship Main Decks
Cargo Ship Main Decks

Did we miss anything? Is there something we didn't discover? Let us know!

Coming out of the hatch, you'll instantly be soaked in the pouring rain. As your mysterious helper mentioned, you'll need to find the CIC (the Communications Center) in order to receive further instructions (12). Hey, so long as the help's coming, might as well take it, right?

1 - Guard

You'll find a guard out on a smoke break here, with his back to you. Take him out before he can raise the alarm.

2 - Barrier

If you have the Jump Enhancement, you'll be able to get over this barrier to the other side of the ship. A +100 XP bonus is your reward for displaying such ingenuity.

3 - Guards

There's two guards chatting with each other here. Listen in on their conversation, then either evade or eliminate them. If you use your weapons, the noise will likely draw in other enemies, so consider using a Gas Grenade or a double takedown if you have the Reflex Booster augment.

4 - Door

This door will take you into the hallways below the Communications Center.

5 - Guards

Once again, two chatting guards for you to deal with. These ones might be easier to take down than the last two, and one will wander off once their conversation is through.

6 - Storage Lockers

Hack the level 2 keypad, destroy the door, or use your Jump Enhancement to get over the fence. There's two storage lockers inside to plunder, one with a CyberBoost ProEnergy Bar and another with a Rate-of-Fire Upgrade.

7 - Guard, Security Camera & Door

You'll find a Security Camera at this corner, but more importantly, another Belltower guard. Knock him out or kill him, then loot the Pocket Secretary from his body to find the code to the balcony door, "1284". Said door is right near the Security Camera, though it also only requires a level 1 hack, so getting in isn't much issue. This way into the CIC is arguably a bit easier than going via the main deck's door at (4), but your mileage may vary.

8 - Catwalk

If you look around the corner at the end of the balcony, you'll spot a moving catwalk that will take you from the north to the south side of the ship discreetly. You can also jump down to the fenced area at (6) from it, if you haven't explored it already. There's also a bottle of Beer nearby on the north side, if you need a small health boost, or just another shot to help you keep going.

9 - Crew Quarters

Be careful heading down the hallway near this room - there's a Security Camera at the far end that will be able to spot you even as you come through the door. Two guards inside the personal quarters are discussing Adam's "disturbance", and one will leave after they're through talking to make things a bit easier for you. Once everything's clear, you can search the room for a Stop! Worm Software and a Pocket Secretary containing the code to a nearby room (10), "6782". Last, you'll notice a gold-colored eBook on one of the beds - it seems that in The Missing Link, the "Scholar" eBooks have been made to stand out a bit. However, while it gives the standard +200 XP bonus, it won't count towards your total for the Doctorate achievement in the main game.

10 - Locked Crew Quarters

This door is loccked with a level 2 keypad - either hack it or get in using the code "6782", as found on one of the guards at (9). Search the room for a Damage Upgrade, CyberBoost ProEnergy Bar, an EMP Grenade tucked behind the garbage can, and a Pocket Secretary containing the code to shut down the laser grid upstairs, "8790". There's also an eBook "mECHsTYLE!" and a newspaper in the room if you want some reading material.

11 - Laser Grid, Heavy Crate & Vent

These lasers will trip the alarm if you cross them. Disable them using the panel with the code "8790", hack its level 3 security if you can, or use the Stun Gun to temporarily disable the beams. Near the lasers, you'll also find a heavy crate blocking an air duct leading into the CIC, which also provides +100 XP. The air duct has two exits, including one directly under your objective.

12 - Communications Center/CIC

The CIC is abandoned save for the drone of computer terminals and a radio providing weather updates. You won't find much loot, either, but you can read the computers for more background information - some of the e-mails will change depending on how you handled Stasis Pod 73 down in the Forward Cargo Hold.

A brief cutscene will play when you reach the enclosed room upstairs. Your mysterious benefactor will give you a few more half-answers before instructing you to get to the Aft Cargo Hold. You'll receive +2500 XP for your progress, and the door out of the CIC will open.

After the cutscene ends, some Belltower goons will storm the room, so either deal with them or make your deft escape. Taking them out can be useful, as one of the soldiers holds a Frag Grenade. If you want to get out quickly, the vent in the floor of the upper room (behind the computer terminals) is a good way to do so, and another vent behind some crates at the north end of the CIC will allow you to bypass the door.

Before moving on, you might want to search the lockers in the upper CIC room for Nuke Virus Software, a CyberBoost ProEnergy Pack, and two boxes of Tranquilizer Darts. The security terminal in the room requires a level 2 hack, and allows you to shut down the Security Cameras in the area (kind of unnecessary at this point), while the standard computer requires a level 1 hack and has some more story-related e-mails to read.

13 - Path to Aft Cargo Hold

You have two options going forward - one is via a ladder on the east side of the hall, and the other is the staircase on the west side. The stairs will expose you to a Security Camera, while the ladder will potentially expose you to a guard at the bottom. Otherwise the two routes take you to the exact same place. Head on to the Aft Cargo Hold (B) to continue your mission.

A - Exit to Forward Cargo Hold

B - Exit to Aft Cargo Hold

P - Alarm Panel

S - Security Camera
