DLC Assignment: Rosalie Lost
Did we miss anything in this section? Is there something we didn't discover? Let us know!

Background

When you install the Firewalker Pack DLC, you'll automatically receive a private message from Cerberus' Project Firewalker. You'll learn from the message that the MSV Rosalie has gone missing near the planet Zeona, and you'll be asked to search the planet for the ship's missing crew, as well as for the prototype Hammerhead rover.

Walkthrough

When you scan Zeona (Elysta / Ismar Frontier), you'll discover the location of the Hammerhead, plus detect some "active data storage sites" that might contain useful information. Then when you land on the planet, you'll find the wreckage of the Rosalie, including the remains of the cargo hold, but you won't find any signs of the crew other than a message from Dr. Cayce mentioning the geth and moving on to the "next site" with Dr. O'Loy.

When you examine the cargo hold, you'll find a cargo computer control, and hacking it will open up the cargo hold and give you access to the Hammerhead, which you'll then automatically board. As you move the Hammerhead around, the interface will give you some hints for how to control it, but almost all of those tips were wrong for us, so we'll summarize the (PC) controls here:
  • The WASD keys drive the Hammerhead.
  • The left shift key or the E key causes the Hammerhead to jump.
  • The right mouse button or the V key causes the Hammerhead to collect data.
  • The spacebar gives the Hammerhead a speed boost.
  • The left mouse button causes the Hammerhead to shoot a missile.
If you're not sure what the controls are for you, then you should go to the Options page and look under Key Bindings. You'll find the vehicle controls at the bottom of the page.

To search for the missing scientists, you'll need to drive the Hammerhead around and collect information from several data sites (marked by glowing blue icons). Each time you collect a piece of data (by keeping the "collect" key pressed while staying over the data site), you'll gain some credits. The only way to damage the Hammerhead is to drive it into lava, so don't worry about ramming it into canyon walls or missing a jump and crashing to the ground. For many of the blue icons, you'll need to keep the "jump" key pressed and then drive forward to reach a new section of the canyon (but don't keep the "boost" key pressed at the same time, or you won't jump as high). At another point you'll need to shoot a part of the canyon wall to create a path to drive through.

Note: The only tricky data site is the last (highest) one. You'll see it from the data site under some wreckage from the Rosalie, but you won't be able to jump to it from there. Instead, you'll have to jump to the data site in the opposite direction, and then jump to a plateau to the left of the plateau with the wreckage.

Once you've collected all seven pieces of data, the assignment will come to an end, and you'll just need to press the F key (on the PC) to return to the Normandy.
