Fable Previews

Another pair of previews for Microsoft and Big Blue Box's Fable have surfaced on the 'net. The first is over at Next Level Gaming:
Your hero is forged totally based on your actions. Heroes age and evolve through the actions you choose and the paths you follow be it for good, evil or in between. Those who ply the way of the sword will see their muscles bulge. Those who weave the dark arts will witness power crackle at their fingertips. And those who skulk in the shadows will watch their skin bleach. And hone your skills and aquire new abilities and possessions as your character develops. You will be able to learn to ride steeds, master the art of thievery, acquire pets, clothing or tattoos, and more.

And the second is at TeamXbox:
Much of the early part of the game will take place in the Heroes Guild where you'll get accustomed to the ins and outs of the controls, how to embark on quests, the inventory system etc. The Guild Master acts as a parent and teacher to help shape the hero (or villain) that you'll become. The Heroes Guild allows players to select quests, and also is the area in which leveling up will be performed (more on that later). The quests early on are fairly straight forward but you'll always have a few choices as to how to complete them or even to embark on one at all. Those looking to do noble tasks can find themselves completing a few odd jobs in order to gain money. This money can then be used to buy your sister a birthday present. Naughty boys may decide that sis can do without chocolate and use the money for their own advantage. This open-endedness is exactly what Molyneux and his team have strived for since day one and it appears they may hit this one right on the head.
