The Aruba Events GmbH had invited the Who is who of the games industry to present the winner of the voting for the best PC-, Console- and Mobile Games produced in Germany.

This night should be a very special occasion for the HandyGamesâ„¢ team: In the vote for the Best Mobile Game of the year the game HandyGamesâ„¢ developed for the epic fantasy game series Gothic, Gothic 3 the Beginning, was announced as the winner. The results were found via an online voting in the run-up to the event and the German gaming community voted the cult game's mobile adaptation right in the first place.

Already in the development a big point was made of giving Gothic 3 the Beginning a very own state in the Gothic universe. The German Developer Award also honoured the idea to create the game as a fully-fledged prequel of the Gothic 3 plot and so bringing real role-play feeling on mobile phones.

"We are very proud about this award and about our whole team that has enabled this success with all their work and creativity first."

HandyGamesâ„¢ CEO Markus Kassulke also annotated the win of the German Developer Award: "This award is a valuable decoration for HandyGamesâ„¢! The user's vote for a 2D-game proves that an exciting and diversified game play is more important to the gaming community as 3D-graphics on a mobile's display."

For HandyGamesâ„¢ CFO Udo Bausewein the award is another inducement to produce the best mobile games in Germany also in the future. "Such a win motivates us to develop always brand-new game highlights for mobile phones.
