2007 Fall PC Preview

GameSpy has put together a six-page feature that profiles many of the PC games slated for release during the last few months of 2007. Surprisingly, the only RPGs mentioned are Flagship Studios' Hellgate: London and CD Projekt's The Witcher. A bit about the latter:
The Witcher is a fascinating concept for an RPG that we've had our eye on for a while -- a long while, actually. The game bounced around without a publisher for a good long while before landing at Atari. It's set in the fantasy world created by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski where "Witchers" are a group of genetically enhanced humans trained from birth to fight monsters for pay and suppress their emotions.

The player takes on the role of Geralt of Riva, one of the last of these Witchers who's on the hunt for the person who stole his people's heritage. Combat is more akin to action games than traditional RPGs, but the real attraction is just to explore the morally ambiguous world of The Witcher, a place filled with war, terrorism, racism, genetic engineering gone awry and various other modern plagues detailed in this magical setting. We're happy The Witcher's finally found a home and we're excited to finally be able to share his adventures this October.

Doesn't Mask of the Betrayer qualify?
