Fable 2 E3 Previews

Two more hands-on previews of Lionhead Studios' Fable sequel are now available, thanks to this year's E3 Media & Business Summit. The first is at ActionTrip:
Another interesting thing that Peter introduced in the demo is the death system in the game. He compared it to your typical situation in one of the Rocky movies. Instead of simply dying, you will fall to the ground and the camera will center on you as the bad guys around you continue to hit and kick you as you are down. Now get this, as they are doing this, you will receive scars and the longer you stay down, the more scars you're gonna have on your body. Very cool feature, and it ties in to another feature and that is that you will be able to get up really quickly at the expense of either experience points or gold.

And the second is at TeamXbox:
Molyneux explained that all of your ranged attacks will be mapped to the Y button (although you can pick up and throw objects at your foes using X), while your magic spells can be triggered by hitting B. Although the combat feels simplistic at first, it still takes a little while to get used to using a single button for all of your attacks. Once you've got that down, however, you'll be striking and spinning your way through groups of enemies. One thing we were really impressed by was the camera, which cuts to a more cinematic angle every time you perform a finishing move on your foes.
