Jade Empire: Special Edition Reviews

BioWare's Jade Empire: Special Edition is the subject of two more fairly enthusiastic online reviews. The first is at Game Over Online with an overall score of 82%:
I'm willing to let the outstanding plot carry the somewhat lesser though still enjoyable combat engine and the thinness of the RPG elements of Jade Empire. If you're not a fan of fighting games in general, this one isn't such a shining example of the genre (though it may well be one of the best you're likely to find among the paltry selection available on the PC) that it's likely to excite you, but if you're looking for a quickie martial arts chop socky adventure, this could be just the ticket.

And the second is at NZGamer with an overall score of 8.0/10:
All up, Jade Empire really exceeded my expectations, especially when I found out that it was a two year old game. It really does have something for everyone: real ambience, great characters and story, a bit of action for martial arts freaks, and humour. I know I didn't mention it earlier, but I finally realised just how great this game was when I found myself transporting a preserved liver to another character while being told by someone else that (ugly people need love too). My final test of a game is always to ask myself whether, after the review, I would continue playing the game or not. In the case of Jade Empire, the answer is a resounding yes.
