Arcane Legions: A Rising Shadow Interview

RPG Vault has published a three-page interview with Slitherine designer Iain McNeil about their upcoming RTS/RPG hybrid, Arcane Legions: A Rising Shadow.
Q: To get started, how would you describe Arcane Legions in overview, especially in terms of how it melds aspects of two genres?

A: Arcane Legions is a blend of RTS and RPG. In a standard RPG, you have characters, while in Arcane Legions you have squads, so we think of it as an army level RPG. For example, each squad has a name, statistical attributes and a level. They can gain experience for killing enemies and completing missions, learn new skills, have their textures customized and have their equipment chosen and see it appear on the model.

Then, when you get in to a battle, the RTS side comes in to play. You set a battle plan, and then your squads will try to carry this out, and you can intervene to set issue new orders as the battle progresses. The level of customization and progression for your squads is truly unprecedented on this scale.
