Rites -- which are based off the badge collecting found in Star Wars Galaxies -- are issued for a plethora of goals and reasons depending on your actions. Slaying a small mountain of furry creatures will grant you a new rite to show off, as well as a new title to display along with your name, for instance. Unlike the badges found in Star Wars Galaxies, rites are not only fun to collect, but also offer players small stat bonuses that further your character's abilities in the field of that rite. If you consider your character to be the master fisherman of Middle Earth, not only could you receive a rite that backs up these claims, but that +1 to fishing will make it even easier to reign over the aquatic kingdom.
