Neverwinter Nights 2 Interview

The folks at Stratics have published an interview with Neverwinter Nights 2 lead artist Tramell "T.Ray" Isaac and lead designer Ferret Baudoin about some of the changes the team has made to the weapons and armor for the sequel. Check it out:
Q: The forums are full of requests for various new weapons and armor. I know everyone has their own pet interests, such as oriental weapons, etc., but what new types of weapons and armor have made it into the game?

A: We've taken a number of the armor sets straight from the manuals of D&D as to not loose that look and feel that the fans have come to recognize. In addition to those we've created armor sets that will not only look awesome but will give the designers the flexibility they need to create any number of armor combinations. As far as types go, the list includes plate, padded, spiked gladiator, barbarian, leather, scale, chain, ornate plate, cloth, hide, studded, and many, many, more. These base types can be modified by the armor attachments system. The system allows you to create different combinations of armor pieces. The player can wear a chain body suit with a spiked gladiator shoulder pad on the left side in conjunction with an ornate plate shoulder pad on the right. Bracers, elbow pads, knee pads, boots, gloves, helmets, capes, boots, and thigh guards can all be swapped out to create the character of your dreams.
