Q: In terms of the plot, what can players expect when they first play The Matrix Online and how does the plot follow up on the events in the Matrix movie trilogy?
A: It's a short period after the end of Matrix Revolutions. There's a truce, but nobody knows how long it'll last. People cheat, Exiles make mischief, and the Machines try surreptitious Means of Control. Morpheus is incensed that the Machines won't return Neo's remains -- why are they keeping them? For him, and others, they're a holy relic, as sacred as Christ's bones would be to Christians. He vows to make trouble until they're returned. It sets off repercussions.
