The Bard's Tale Reviews

A couple more reviews for inXile's action RPG have surfaced, both of which are somewhat positive. The first is at 1Up with an overall score of 7.0/10:
Bard's Tale does skate close to the edge of being an American equivalent to all those JRPGs which would be better served as anime OAVs -- the humor really is the best part, and would work equally well divorced of its game context. However, the gameplay is good enough to save it from such a fate, and if the thin plot of games with similar mechanics bothers you, this could end up as your favorite in the genre.

And the second is at Xbox Exclusive with an overall score of 7.9/10:
The Bard's Tale game is definitely worth the time you put into it, though it's questionable whether it's worth its full price. Once it starts hitting the used shelves though, the unique story, simple and easily manipulated game mechanics, and bouts of good humor will make the game worth your while. Couple that with a large amount of unlockables and 3 difficulty levels, The Bard's Tale is a game you'll be sure to bring out and enjoy during any dry spell in the world of gaming.
