Star Wars Galaxies Week-Long Developer Diary

Sony's official Star Wars Galaxies website has been updated with a new week-long developer diary written by senior producer Gary Gattis. There are currently two days available for your reading enjoyment, with the first day starting out like this:
First thing today (after coffee) was a production meeting with SOE and Lucas producers. Each day we review all the open bugs and discuss where we are and where we think we need to be. Haden and Julio are very reasonable, and daily we will come to a meeting-of-the-minds between publisher and developer. Today the largest topic of conversation is the ship differentiation. Lucas has a very strong desire that the ships adhere to Star Wars canon. We try our best to assure them that even if they don't feel just right with the current build, we now have all the different knobs in place to get to where they want us to be. (Knobs refer to the different types of data that we can tweak, mass, rotational velocity, turning radius, weapon slots, etc.) We are all in agreement with the goals and bug priorities. Over the weekend we pushed the "slide" of ships a little too far, we will be tweaking it back and changing some other mechanics.
