Vanguard: Saga of Heroes E3 Preview

Warcry has put together a preview of Vanguard: Saga of Heroes, based upon what they saw of Brad McQuaid's latest MMORPG at this year's E3. Check it out:
As the last part of our tour of the city, we were shown the castle. Just like the city, the player can enter every single room and hallway inside the castle, which is still under construction in the game. On top, there's a giant hamster wheel which runs a crane used for constructing the castle. "New Targonor will even be a dungeon for some classes, where they will be able to spend 15 to 20 levels and never even leave the city" John said as we were headed towards the docks. He didn't say which classes, though. He also didn't say how it would be a dungeon. He did, however, tell us about the darker side of New Targonor. Under every city lurks a system of sewers and tunnels, and New Targonor is no different. Just like you would expect, Sigil has spared no expense, and forgotten no details. New Targonor's sewers are fully mapped out, with an expansive development of tunnels and baddies to haunt them. As you may well know, New Targonor resides on a cliff, and the entire area under the city is put to good use.

New Targonor is where you get your first boat. With the boat, you'll be able to do some coasting, that is, sail along Thestra's coast, which will allow you to more easily reach areas of Thestra that would take far too long to travel to on foot. Telon is a huge world, and traveling everywhere on foot is not only just about impossible, but it's pointless. Transportation is provided and should be used. "We don't want to make it so that you have to be level 50 billion to get a horse," Bill Fisher commented. You can get your first horse early on, so that it is useful to you for travel, and not just a symbol of status. Modes of transportation include wagons, boats, and horses. There are most likely more, but that's all that we were told about.
