Following the recent release of inXile Entertainment’s latest post-apocalyptic RPG Wasteland 3, the studio’s boss Brian Fargo had a video chat with the folks over at Shacknews. The resulting interview covers the long-running series’ bumpy history, the challenges of developing a complex RPG with consoles in mind, the game’s contemporary inspirations, and more.

For the most part we talk about how Wasteland 2 helped revive the classic role-playing game market, and how inXile took the things that developers did with games like Divinity: Original Sin 2 and Pillars of Eternity and learned from those things to make Wasteland 3 even better.
