The Elder Scrolls: Blades 2019 Recap

Originally announced back in 2018, Bethesda’s mobile action-RPG The Elder Scrolls: Blades launched into Early Access earlier this year. As a result, we can now check out this article on the game’s website that serves as a quick recap of the major updates and improvements Blades received in 2019. Check it out:

As the year comes to a close, we’d like to reflect on the fantastic year Blades has had and the people who made it possible: You!

Blades has had an incredible journey so far in the short nine months since Early Access began. From our first update at E3 2019, which added jewelry and new voiceovers, to our biggest update yet earlier this month, we’ve been able to evolve the game thanks to the essential feedback from you, the players. Throughout Blades’ first year, your feedback has been integral to helping us make improvements - such as the removal of chest timers in Update 1.5. We’re thrilled at the positive response to that update, and with your help, we’re looking forward to making continual improvements to the game in 2020. If you have feedback, we want to hear it; reach out to us on Twitter or the Customer Service portal here.

Speaking of Update 1.5, there were some other big changes to Blades… such as the addition of a whole new game mode! We’ve loved seeing players hone their skills and abilities and experience Blades in a brand-new competitive way. If you’ve had an epic victory, we want to hear about it - share it to our official subreddit or post about it on social media with the hashtag #Blades. Skilled players like Nemesis and Mattacrator on top guilds such as Dragons Bane have been tearing up the leaderboard. Head into the Arena today and with the right preparation and skills, we might see your name at the top of the pack!

Our community has always been eager to help each other out, and the comradery we’ve witnessed in the Blades community is extending even further into the new Guilds. Players quickly began forming and growing their own Guilds as soon as Update 1.5 hit, helping each other level up towns, trading for items, and enjoying Blades as part of a team. If you love the idea of Guilds but are having a hard time finding one to join out of the 20,000+ that have been created, you might want to check out the Guild Recruitment Megathread on the official subreddit.

2020 is going to be a fantastic year for Blades, with release on the Nintendo Switch and much more in store. We can’t wait to share what’s coming, but in the meantime, we hope you’ll enjoy the flurry of festive decorations and bundles releasing in the store all month! We’d love to see how you’re decorating your town for the winter with frosty decorations. Share your best Blades moments with us on social media with the hashtag #Blades, and we’ll see everyone in the new year!
