Chang’an

Did we miss anything in this section? Is there something we didn't discover? Let us know!

1 - Huan Ye

Huan Ye will update the main quest “Hunt for the Sickle.” She’ll tell you that a woman (Feiyan) is looking for you in the center of the city (#3), and that the emperor’s terra cotta soldiers have come to life and are attacking people.

2 - Ma Feibai and Wai Zhen

The two soldiers here (#2) will reiterate what Huan Ye (#1) might have told you already, that the emperor’s terra cotta soldiers have come to life and are wreaking havoc in the city.

Ma Feibai will trigger the side quest “The Emperor’s Clay Soldiers.” He’ll ask you to go to the palace (#2a) and destroy the terra cotta soldiers there. Inside the palace you’ll run into Bandari, a terra cotta sorcerer. The sorcerer will cast an endless stream of spells at you that will damage you and slow you, and it will also teleport around in the palace, meaning that you’ll probably have to kill all of the terra cotta soldiers there, whether you want to or not. But just keep attacking the sorcerer, and eventually it will fall. Once it does, talk to the Spirit of the Great Emperor in the palace to receive 2 attribute points, and then talk to Ma Feibai again to receive 30,000 experience points and a random amulet.

Wai Zhen will trigger the side quest “Terra Cottas at Large.” He’ll tell you that his men are afraid of the terra cotta soldiers, and that he can’t secure the city until they’ve been destroyed. You’ll find the terra cotta soldiers scattered throughout the city, usually in courtyards closed off by wooden doors (#2b). Once you’ve killed enough of the soldiers, if you return to Wai Zhen then you’ll receive 26,000 experience points and a random magical weapon.

3 - Feiyan

Feiyan will tell you that the Telkine has disappeared, but that recent research suggests that it might be trying to free a Titan buried in the area. She’ll then ask you to journey to the Jade Palace, because the Yellow Emperor there should know where the Titan is buried.

This conversation will do a couple things. It will complete the main quest “Hunt for the Sickle” and earn you 10,000 experience points. It will also trigger a new main quest “Journey to the Jade Palace.”

4 - Qu Yuan

Qu Yuan is a storyteller. He’ll tell you about Nuwa, “the mother of all mortals.”

5 - Locked Gate

You won’t be able to pass through this gate until you’ve completed the main quest “Journey to the Jade Palace.”

6 - Locked Gate

You’ll need to talk to the guard next to the gate before you can go through. Provided that you’ve completed the main quest “Journey to the Jade Palace,” he’ll let you pass.

“I’m going to ask to get reassigned to record-keeping. This job is too dangerous!”

Exits:

A Path to Shaanxi Fields.
B Gate to the Quinba Bamboo Forest. This exit will eventually lead you to the Jade Palace.
C Gate to the Jinghe Wetlands. You won’t be able to reach this gate until after you’ve completed the main quest “Journey to the Jade Palace.”
D Gate to the Forest of the Ancients. You won’t be able to reach this gate until after you’ve completed the main quest “Journey to the Jade Palace.”
