Helos

Did we miss anything in this section? Is there something we didn't discover? Let us know!

1 - Starting Point

This is where you’ll start out in the game.

2 - Timaeus

Timaeus (#2) will ask you to rescue his horse (#2a), which you'll find being attacked by two satyrs and one boar. You won’t get a reward for helping out Timaeus, but the satyrs and the boar will only attack the horse, and so you can kill them without fear of being attacked in return. The satyrs will also drop some equipment when they die.

3 - Iolaus

Iolaus is a storyteller. He’ll tell you about Herakles.

4 - Diomedes

Diomedes (#4) is the village elder. He’ll give you your first major quest of the game -- to defeat the satyr shaman (#4a) who is leading the satyrs against the town. The shaman will probably be level 4 when you meet him, but you should be level 2 by that time. The shaman is much tougher than the other satyrs and creatures that you have faced, so if you have trouble with him be sure to assign the skill and attribute points you gained when you leveled, and also be sure to use the two nearby shrines. The shaman will drop some magical loot when it dies.

Note: Before going after the shaman, you should visit the portal to the south (P) and pick up your portal stone. The portal stone will allow you to quickly return to the village to heal and sell your excess inventory.

When you return to Diomedes, he’ll reward you with 1000 gold and 150 experience points, and he’ll ask you to contact General Leonidas in the Spartan War Camp.

“You defeated the powerful shaman? Astounding! Your victory today is great, but I fear there will be more monsters tomorrow.”

5 - Nicostratus

Nicostratus is a shepherd. When you first leave Helos through its southern gate (Exit A), Nicostratus will come running up to you, and then he’ll usually move to this spot inside the village. When you talk to him, he’ll give you the “Monstrous Brigands” side quest -- to rescue Tellis from a satyr cave. The cave can be found in Laconia.

Exits:

A Southern gate. When you go through the southern gate, you’ll enter Laconia.
