After giving Martin the Great Sigil Stone you retrieved from the Great Gate, he will tell you that he now has everything he needs to open a portal to Camoran's Paradise. You're to meet him at Cloud Ruler Temple's Great Hall when you're ready to face Mankar and retrieve the Amulet of Kings needed to relight the Dragonfires at the Temple of the One. Martin warns that the portal will close behind you, though, so you're to take everything you need along with you. Heed his advice and make any repairs you might need, purchase new equipment, or finish any pending quests you've been meaning to take care of.

When all your preparations are complete, fast travel to Cloud Ruler Temple and speak with Martin in the Great Hall. He tells you that the Mysterium Xarxes ritual has been completed and that he can now open the portal, though you'll have to find your own way back as it will close behind you. He believes that Mankar is the "anchor" for this "Paradise", so killing him should unmake the realm and send you back to Cyrodiil. When ready, give Martin the word and he will conjure the fiery portal so that you may launch your own invasion against the Mythic Dawn.

"Paradise" is actually a befitting name for Mankar's realm. You enter what appears to be a tranquil forest, though you'll soon find that daedra patrol its grassy interior. Shortly after you arrive, you'll begin hearing Mankar's voice as he boasts about his "Gaiar Alata" and "Sacred Garden." He'll even tell you to cast your eyes up to Carac Agaialor, "his seat at the pinnacle of Paradise." You won't make much sense of his babble just yet, but as it turns out he has actually aided your endeavor by revealing a little too much information.

Following the path to the southeast, you'll run across an "Ascended Immortal" who will shed some more light on the situation. Using the new conversation topics Mankar revealed to you, you'll learn that the Forbidden Grotto is the only way out of the Savage Garden. Only those wearing the Bands of the Chosen may enter the Forbidden Grotto, though the immortal doesn't know what happens to those who enter the grotto as they never seem to return. When you've heard enough, continue along the path as it makes its way to the north. When you reach a "T" in the pathway, you'll be approached by Kathutet, a daedra who is well aware of your reputation.

Kathutet tells you that you are well respected by he and his kin for the bravery and honor you have displayed thus far. Because of the respect they have for you, Kathutet offers you a way out of the garden - you can either perform a service for him or defeat him in battle. Either way will bring him honor, so he doesn't care which you choose. Battling him is certainly the quickest route, though you'll find Kathutet to be one of the toughest adversaries you've faced up to this point. If you choose to perform a service for him, Kathutet tells you that the rabble of the Savage Garden have imprisoned Xivilai Anaxes and that he needs you to set the creature free. Do so and he promises to reward you with the Bands of the Chosen needed to enter the Forbidden Grotto (you can simply loot these if you decided to do battle with Kathutet instead).

Xivilai Anaxes is being held in a cave not far from where you stand. Take the left fork and follow the pathway until you reach a stone platform, then continue a little further north to find the entrance leading into the Lair of Anxes just along the water's edge. The Ascended Immortals do not attack you once inside, though they do beg you not to let Anaxes loose for fear that he'll continue to torment them. These are Mythic Dawn lackies that are doing the begging, though, so don't feel any remorse as you lift the logs holding the boulder in place that seals Anaxes' makeshift prison. When the Xivilai is free, he will proceed to kill all of the Ascended Immortals in the cave. Stick around if you want to watch the fireworks, otherwise you can simply leave the cave and return to where you originally met up with Kathutet. He awaits you inside the Flooded Grotto, so make your way into the cave to the east to let him know that Anaxes is now free.

After defeating a few daedra, you'll find Kathutet toward the back of the Flooded Grotto. As promised, he offers you the Bands of the Chosen for performing the service (though you're still given the choice to kill him for the bands, if you're looking to spill some blood). If you let him live, Kathutet claims that you'll never make it through the Forbidden Grotto alive. You'll be "the charge of my kynsman, Orthe", or so he taunts. Equip the shackles (which unfortunately give you a 50% weakness to fire) and listen to Mankar's ravings as you pass through the door beyond Kathutet into the Forbidden Grotto.

You'll receive a journal entry instructing you to find your way through the Terrace of the Dawn when you first arrive in the Forbidden Grotto. As it turns out, this isn't the salvation that Mankar's chosen disciples had been hoping for. Instead, it's a set of caverns where those "lucky" enough to receive Bands of the Chosen get to unwillingly dip themselves in molten lava. Nice. After taking down an Ascended Immortal (and possibly a daedra or two), you'll come face-to-face with a man named Eldamil. He doesn't immediately attack, but instead demands to know what you're doing inside the grotto. If you tell him that you're here to kill Mankar Camoran, he surprisingly offers you his help to leave the Forbidden Grotto. He explains that he was part of the daedric army that destroyed Kvatch, but was killed while invading homes in search of survivors. He has had time to ponder his actions and has come to regret them, so he wants to provide you the aid you seek to make up for the atrocities he committed (the fact that he was sent here to be tortured for his regrets might be somewhat of a catalyst).

No one wearing the bands can leave the Forbidden Grotto, so Eldamil's plan is to remove yours so that you may continue on your way to defeat Mankar. However, the Dremora overseer Orthe will be coming soon to check up on Eldamil, so he first asks that you pose as a prisoner so that Orthe does not suspect anything is going on. Once Orthe leaves, Eldamil will have enough time to remove your bands. Agree to play along and Eldamil will lead you toward a nearby cage. Orthe will show up and Eldamil will tell him that you're a prisoner here for questioning. To make it more convincing, Eldamil has you step inside the cage and lowers you down just above the lava. When Orthe leaves, he brings you back up and tells you that he'll meet you further into the grotto to remove your bands.

From here, proceed through the eastern tunnel and then take your first right heading south. The north tunnel leads you to three powerful Dremora - Orthe, Ranyu, and Amkaos - so you should avoid it unless you're looking for an extremely tough battle (if you didn't follow along with Eldamil's plan, then traveling to the northernmost room is a requirement as you'll need to loot Orthe's Key from The Forbidden sac). In the southeast chamber, you'll find a door leading into a second section of the Forbidden Grotto.

Just beyond the door, you'll come across Eldamil again. He removes the Bands of the Chosen as promised, then offers to help you kill Mankar Camoran. Take him up on his offer if you wish, then follow the linear path leading through this new section of the grotto. Mankar will enter your thoughts once again, though this time he seems congratulatory for your success so far. In a northwest chamber, you'll have to do battle with a Xivilai named Medrike, though you probably won't have much trouble defeating him with Eldamil's help. Just beyond Medrike is a door that brings you to a section of Paradise leading to Mankar Camoran's palace. Mankar's children, Raven and Ruma, await you outside of the palace. When you approach, Ruma offers to take you to her father and leads you into the Carac Agaialor.

When you stand before Mankar, he's prepared with a speech about how Lord Dagon's return to Tamriel is inevitable and that you are the last defender that stands in the way. The battle starts off with both of his children assaulting you, then Mankar himself joins the fray once they're both dead. Quick and brutal melee is the best way to bring Mankar down, as he'll typically cast a Silence spell on you and seems resistant to most damage spells when you're finally able to get one off. When the Mythic Dawn leader is finally bested, you'll be able to grab the Amulet of Kings from his corpse (as well as Mankar Camoran's Staff and Mankar Camoran's Robe) just as the Paradise around you begins to crumble.

With Mankar dead and Paradise dissolved, you'll be returned to Cloud Ruler Temple. Martin will approach you and assume the role of Emperor as you hand him the amulet. Mehrunes Dagon has already invaded Cyrodiil, though, so Martin tells you that you must travel with him to the Imperial City in order to Light the Dragonfires and once again secure all of Tamriel from any further Oblivion invasions. Onward!
