Dungeons & Dragons Online Update 7 Preview

The Examiner has conjured up a two-part, PAX-based preview of Turbine's seventh content update since the launch of Dungeons & Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited. The first half covers graphical enhancements and new races:
Two of the biggest additions included in DDO Update 7 are the new races: Half-Orcs and Half-Elves, the former of which has been especially, eagerly anticipated by the DDO community. Half-Orcs are the large, brutish (and strongest) races that D&D players have known and loved since the 1st edition of the game. As such, Half-Orcs get strength bonuses and even sport some unique character customizations unavailable to any other race: tusks!

Half-Elves, on the other hand, are prettier and more adaptable (likely well-suited to solo play as well), with bonuses to things like Diplomacy (hence their favored war cry is "not the face!"). They also have uniquely customizable eyes, probably so you can make them look more like David Bowie.

While the second half covers the new monsters and adventure pack:
DDO Update 7 adds a new location. You can now venture to the Lord's March Plaza (which will serve as a hub for the new content and adventures), and there find the entrance to the Coinlord's Palace, where the rulers of the city live.

Update 7 also introduces a new 12-man raid at level 6, which will be added to the Devil Assault Adventure Pack. If you already own this adventure pack, the new raid will be available to you automatically. This raid will also be the first suitable raid for characters below level 10.

The new raid is designed for 12 players at 6th level or higher, and will send you back in time to uncover a long-standing mystery in the game the fate of Nat Gann. Teaming up with Nell Gann and a host of shady characters (which includes a Mind Flayer, by the way), you go through a Chronosphere to a past event the massive invasion of Devils.

Although you won't be able to truly change the past (even though some of the aforementioned shady characters might have an agenda in that direction), you can take part in epic battles against bearded devils, Orthon devils, and ultimately send them packing and learn about Nat Gann's fate in the process. An Epic version of this adventure will also be available.
I suppose I'll have to take a new Half-Orc Barbarian through the new raid.
