Dragon Age: Origins The Golems of Amgarrak DLC Reviews

If you have yet to pick up BioWare's latest set of DLC for Dragon Age: Origins, there are some online critiques of Golems of Amgarrak you might want to page through.

Spawn Kill gives it a 4/10:
Basically, Golems of Amgarrak is a mediocre dungeon crawl for very high level adventurers with little to no reward loot-wise. It's not worth even 5 dollars as it takes all of 45 minutes to complete, and unless you're an achievement whore, it has little to no re-playability. It might be something worth checking out in the middle of an original playthrough, but it is pretty stand-alone and requires a high-level imported or created character. In short, save your money for better DLC. You won't get anything out of this one.

Smashpad gives it a 6.2/10:
There are some neat characters you can control such as a Runic Golem and Snug the Bronto (a sort of horse-rhino hybrid), but these characters really do not give enough incentive to play through this obviously lacking DLC. It really is a shame considering how polished and fresh Leliana's Song and to be administered to this type of unusual addition to the Dragon Age name. A boring story, slowdown issues and a difficulty that will leave many players bald after they pull out their hair is enough to describe your time with Golems of Amgarrak. Even at $5, it is way overpriced for the content you receive.

Xbox Live Addicts doesn't score it:
For 400MSP (Xbox360) or $5 (PS3/PC) Golems of Amgarrak offers you the chance to dust off your Warden suit and get back into the action with what is primarily a hack-n-slash side quest. For that purpose alone, it is worth the points. However if you are wanting an in depth story with character background and development then maybe this isn't for you.

And Whuffie's Blog doesn't score it, either:
Overall, I'd say skip this DLC unless you really love dwarves or think $5 is an acceptable amount for an hour of (cave crawling) every so often. The items you get are nothing really special, and I was more impressed by what you get from the Darkspawn Chronicles. I actually use that frequently.
