SONY ONLINE ENTERTAINMENT PROVIDING A HOST OF ACTIVITIES FOR FANS DURING SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON WEEKENDAnd one for the "Battle of the Legends" tournament.
Events to Include Hands-On Game Demos, Giveaways, Head-to-Head Tournament, Panel Discussion, Fan Event and Annual Block Party
WHO: Sony Online Entertainment LLC (SOE) today announced its lineup of activities for the weekend of San Diego Comic-Con, July 22-25.
WHAT: DC UniverseTM Online, Star Wars®: Clone Wars AdventuresTM and Magic: The Gathering TacticsTM headline a full weekend of activities during San Diego Comic Con.

In addition to hands-on demos and giveaways, fans can expect some new surprises surrounding this upcoming action MMO during Comic-Con weekend:
Panel Discussion
On Saturday, July 24 at 3:30PM in Room 5AB, fans can join superstars Jim Lee (Batman:Hush), Mark Hamill (voice of The Joker in Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: The Animated Series), writer Marv Wolfman (The New Teen Titans, Blade) along with moderator Greg Miller (PlayStation Executive Editor, IGN) and members of the DC Universe Online development team for a peek at the exciting backstory of this action MMO. The panelists will reveal for the first time at Comic-Con the exciting intro cinematic to the game, where an earth-shattering chain of events puts you at the center of the salvation or ruin of the DC Universe! All attendees of the panel discussion will also receive a DCUO VIP Beta Key!
DCUO Fan Event
On Saturday July 24 from 6:30 9:00PM. the Seaview Room of the Marriott Hotel downtown will be the site where fans can meet Executive Creative Director Jim Lee and DC Comics writer Marv Wolfman, and be the first to hear about the latest game updates as well as participate in a Q&A with members of the DCUO development team. Fans can also get another crack at that exclusive DCUO VIP Beta Key; they'll be available on a first come, first served basis along with other goodies!
Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures
Based on the popular Cartoon Network series, Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures makes its Comic Con debut! Fans will have a chance to exercise their inner Jedi Knight®, with a sneak preview of the game before it goes live this Fall, speeding through space in a starfighter, dueling against iconic adversaries or even taking out waves of battle droids in Tower Defense!
Magic: The Gathering Tactics
For fans of fantasy, tactical combat and Magic: The Gathering, this is their happy place! Attendees who take the reigns in Magic: The Gathering - Tactics will be transformed into a Planeswalker, a powerful mage who commands devastating spells and incredible creatures. Players can take their skills into intense online tactical battles as they fight in richly illustrated environments with all five colors of Magic.
SOE Block Party
The SOE Block Party gives fans the chance to join fellow gamers and the developers of SOE's games at SOE's San Diego, CA headquarters for music, food, tours, game previews, give-aways, raffles and much more. Additionally, the party will offer activities for kids, so it's a great activity for the entire family! All are welcome! Attendance is FREE!
Shuttle buses are scheduled to travel round-trip to SOE from Comic-Con every 30 minutes from 4:00pm-6:00pm. Look for the SOE signs in front of the Marriot Hotel, located north of the Convention Center (toward convention area A). Buses will be returning to the Convention Center every 30 minutes until 8:00pm.
SONY ONLINE ENTERTAINMENT PRESENTS DC UNIVERSE ONLINE (BATTLE OF THE LEGENDS) TOURNAMENT AT SAN DIEGO COMIC CON
WHAT: A weekend tournament held in the Sony Online Entertainment booth at San Diego Comic Con, July 22-25. Fans will have their chance to become legends in the new online world of DC UniverseTM Online (DCUO), competing for great prizes and a chance to create a character for SOE's upcoming action MMO, DC Universe Online.
Teams of 2-players each will square off in a ladder tournament of heroes vs. villains Thursday through Saturday, with the two finalist teams battling it out in arena combat for the title of Next Legend!
Tournament highlights will be tracked and updated on the DC Universe Online website (www.dcuniverseonline.com), as well as on the DCUO Facebook and Twitter pages.
The two finalist teams will both receive the chance to create an in-game character that will be put into the live game as part of a high-level combat encounter, becoming a permanent part of the game world. Both finalist teams will also receive a copy of DC Universe Online at launch (PC or PS3 version).
The winning team earns the title of Next Legend, and will receive a prize package of DCUO-related gifts, including a limited edition Batman/The Joker poster autographed by superstar artist and DCUO Executive Creative Director, Jim Lee, a DCUO Collector's Edition game pack and an SOE 30-Day Game Time card.

* Ranking of PvP ability (Novice, Intermediate, or Master)
* One sentence (100 character limit) on why they want to be the Next Legend
Entrants will be selected at random via lottery and notified of their eligibility for the tournament by 5:00PM PT on July 19, 2010. The competition will be ladder style, with eight teams competing on Thursday, four on Friday and the finals taking place on Saturday.
