DeathSpank Reviews

Those of you looking forward to swinging a Demon Poop Hammer at groups of beasties should probably set your sights on these latest three reviews for DeathSpank.

G4 gives it a 4/5:
There's a twisted genius that lies behind the flaming g-string of justice. Deathspank doesn't only presents a host of entertaining characters, but innovative mechanics that accommodate both new recruits and seasoned veterans in their quest to dispense justice and vanquish evil. While not every aspect may be perfect -- the quest structure can be a bit too easy and the game seems to trade humor for plot cohesion at times -- this reviewer hopes that this will be the start of a beautiful franchise.

Destructoid gives it an 8.5/10:
As a single-player game, though, DeathSpank really shines. The addictive nature of leveling up and looting treasure chests and fallen enemies is here in spades, not to be missed by fans of the genre. It's also one of the better-looking and most polished titles in the digital space, it's also one of the meatiest -- there's easily hours worth of play time here, more than many retail titles, all for $14.99.

And then MTV Multiplayer doesn't provide a score:
I had a dream that XBLA and PSN titles could have this amount of meaningful, well designed content. In all respects, "DeathSpank" is the realization of this. It's a full-fledged, content-heavy game with solid writing, deep-enough mechanics, and a world to be proud of. It's also easily one of the best RPG's I've played in recent memory. Check it out.
