Puzzle Quest 2 Reviews

Four more reviews for Infinite Interactive's true Puzzle Quest sequel have gone online, all of which analyze the Nintendo DS version of the puzzle/RPG crossbreed.

IGN gives the DS version a slightly lower 8.5/10:
Like the first game, Puzzle Quest 2 takes a simple casual affair and adds layers of depth you won't be able to resist. Even though the quest is long and your customization options seem to be limitless, it still works as a game you can pick up and play for short sessions. This is the Puzzle Quest you fell in love with, and the new dungeon exploration and usable items only sweeten the deal. If only all of life's problems could be solved by matching colored objects together.

1UP gives it a "B+":
Despite the minor qualms I might have, Puzzle Quest 2 is still a very good game. In Challenge of the Warlords, you could see all of these great elements, but they weren't fully developed. Now, Puzzle Quest 2 feels fully fleshed out and muscled up. By improving on these elements, developers Infinite Interactive have made the game even more fun and addicting than the first.

GamePro gives it a 3.5/5:
All in all, I really feel like Puzzle Quest 2 on the DS is very limited by the hardware. While it's unrealistic for this port to look anywhere as good as the Xbox Live and PC versions, I at least would've liked some form of online multiplayer to give the port a little more replay value. Still, if you prefer a handheld version of the game (and don't want to wait for the iPhone and iPod releases), you can nevertheless get plenty of hours out of the game before you get anywhere close to finishing up this adventure.

And KidzWorld gives it a 5/5:
Controls for the DS is still only touch screen based, which means you might still do a move by accident. Thankfully, there is no longer any punishment for making a bad move. Local multiplayer is back, but without much change. The graphics for the game is a bit low in definition, which is disappointing. But the biggest complaint is the lag and saving. After everything you do, the game will automatically save and this can get annoying really fast.
