Mass Effect 2 Kasumi - Stolen Memory DLC Reviews

If you haven't yet put down the $7 necessary to procure yourself a copy of BioWare's Kasumi - Stolen Memory DLC, then you may want to sift through these latest reviews to see if it's worth your hard-earned dollars.

IGN gives it a 7.5/10:
Kasumi's Stolen Memory is a great little quest, but for most the "little" part will be a sticking point. At roughly an hour in length, this is one download that doesn't offer a lot of bang for your buck.

GameDaily gives it a 7/10:
All of this makes Kasumi's Stolen Memory a bit disappointing. It was easier to excuse issues with previous DLC because it was free, but at 560 Microsoft Points, we expected more from BioWare; by comparison, Zaeed Massani's mission was far more interesting. However, downloading it won't break the bank, and for the sake of completing the team, it's worth the cash.

Crave Online doesn't do the scoring thing:
Overall, picking up Kasumi's Stolen Memory is going to depend on a number of factors that you're going to have to weigh for yourself. Is an hour's worth of gameplay worth $7? Are shallow stealth mechanics as much of a letdown for you as they were for me? And lastly, do you really need another party member for an already overflowing cast of characters? But if you think the price is justified and don't care for elaborate stealth mechanics, then Kasumi's Stolen Memory will probably seem like a good pickup for lovers of Mass Effect 2. While I was disappointed with some aspects of the DLC, I enjoyed the overall experience because Kasumi's character seems to have a lot of potential. What you get in this DLC is but a primer to this character's overall story arc, but it looks like the reprecussions shown here could stretch into the main narrative of Mass Effect 3. However, that's just speculation on my part. Truth is, we might never see anything come out of the plot points this DLC brings up. Only time will tell for sure. But when it comes down to it, I can say I enjoyed what little taste of Kasumi I did get here. And no, that's not sexual.

GameInformer doesn't either:
I walked away from this mission with a greater appreciation of Mass Effect 2 as a whole, but also with the feeling that I was only getting a small taste of what Mass Effect 2 really is. If you want to expand your knowledge of this universe's fiction, jump right in. This DLC's narrative adds another interesting layer to this robust universe, including a small detail that will make you want to travel to Earth (Mass Effect 3, perhaps?). The DLC is also worth investing in if you plan on playing Mass Effect 2 again or for the first time. Kasumi's stealth abilities make her a lethal combatant.

And AfterShock follows suit:
really wanted to enjoy this DLC, considering I've awaited it's arrival all weekend, but I actually felt that I just might have wasted $6 on DLC which really should have been free. I could have done without the achievement in all honesty. Perhaps, if Bioware had made Kasumi's character with greater depth, and the first sequence of the DLC more entertaining, I might have felt it deserved the price. Unfortunately, with a paper-thin character who is practically useless in battle, and a poor story to accompany her, Kasumi just was not worth my time, or money. I probably will beat Mass Effect 2 again, but I probably won't use Kasumi.
