Fable III Needs to Sell Five Million Copies

We've covered some GDC tidbits already but I thought this one was worth highlighting separately, if for nothing else than its reasoning.
During a panel at this year's Games Developer Conference, Peter Molyneux declared a lofty goal for Fable III. It needs to sell more than 5 million copies. Molyneux did not frame this as a financial goal, but instead a way to measure that far more people were drawn in by Fable III's big changes.

According to Molyneux, Fable III sold 3 million units on the original Xbox. The sequel sold more than 3.5 million copies on Xbox 360. By moving away from a traditional RPG system and adding emphasis to action and adventure elements, Molyneux hopes even more people will give Fable III a chance.
