GameShark has conjured up an interview with Redbana global manager Eric Liu about several topics related to Mythos, including their plans for beta testing the game, going toe-to-toe with Diablo III, introducing a microtransaction system, and more.
Will you be doing another beta with the new version of the game? You seem to be attempting to be very transparent with the development process by featuring developer diaries and a strong presence on social networks. Why was this important?
Yes! We are planning several closed betas sometime in the first half of 2010, although we don't have a set date yet. We keep our development process open because we want to establish a strong relationship with long-time fans who have been around since the original beta. By keeping in touch over social networks and the Mythos website, we are providing those fans with a window into the process and being clear about what we expect the game to be like when it is finally launched. We really want the players to feel like they are a part of the development process. That's one of the only ways to improve on an already excellent backbone.
