Dragon Age: Origins Preview

The Internet has given birth to another hands-on preview of Dragon Age: Origins, and this time it's awaiting your scrutiny over at Play Magazine.
You're a Grey Warden sort of the Jedi Knights of Origins' fictional Ferelden and you've been recruited to take down the Blight, the baddest of baddies; I'm talking devil horns, hellfire, cut-out-your-heart-and-eat-it (bad.) You, along with your three-person party (you can switch characters on the fly), will face rabid troll-like soldiers with really bad teeth, snorting, slobbering ogres, and dragons that'll fill your screen with so much evil you may have to have an exorcism performed on your Sony WEGA. I got to try my hand at battling one of the aforementioned snot-flinging ogres; upon reaching the top level of an appropriately creepy Medieval estate, which my group had already littered with countless enemy corpses, we took on the towering, pissed-off menace with a series of long-range spells and up-close combat moves. The several-minute battle was thrillingly epic, easily upping my adrenaline beyond any physician's recommended level. Fireballs pierced the air, metal clashed, and the beast finally fell, but not before my Mage met the bottom of its crushing hooves, and I went through a stockpile of life-rejuvenating potions like a chubby kid tearing through a bag of Skittles.
