Ever since SA has come out, weapon and armor durability have been going down at a unusually fast rate, are there any plans to fix this?

We have done a first adjustment pass to durability loss on weapons and armor. There was indeed a bug which caused equippables to take far more damage than we intended. You should see a significant difference as of this publish.
