Majesty 2: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim Reviews

The first four online reviews for Paradox Interactive's Majesty sequel are in - and they're all pretty favorable.

NowGamer kicks things off with an 8.6/10:
The fact Majesty 2 is bursting with charm and oodles of fine detail makes it a rewarding and memorable fantasy simulation. Ultimately this is a game that crosses the boundaries of several genres and will have mass appeal we doubt you'll want to do the dirty work yourself again after playing Majesty 2.

Gamer Limit goes with an 8.5/10:
As a result of this genre twist, multiplayer blends the line between conventional and revolutionary. Initially, it's difficult to plan complicated or elaborate attacks based on different types of units and placements, since the bounty system removes the individuality of unit specific advantage. That said, Majesty 2 forces you and your opponent to devise new types of on-the-fly tactics, as you watch and direct your heroes to fight massive proxy battles in the dead space between your castles. Epic.

Hooked Gamers hits it with a 7.6/10:
Majesty 2's unique heroes system certainly offers some refreshing gameplay during the earlier missions of the game. Later on, however, the gameplay grows a bit repetitive. While each mission has slightly different goals, they play out pretty much the same. You build and defend against incoming foes until you are strong enough and then you go after your main objective. The difficulty is increased by the speed at which enemies increase their numbers, and that's it. There are no further special challenges to be found here. That by no means suggests that Majesty 2 is a boring game, but if you are looking for something that challenges you to your limits, this game is not for you. If you are looking for something that you can play at a leisurely pace that doesn't wreck your nerves or your brain, then Majesty 2 is sure to please.

And Cheat Code Central comes in with a 4.1/5:
Majesty 2 brings some fresh updates and spruces up the overall gameplay to make up for almost an entire decade of technological advances in between the games. It isn't cutting edge by any means, but the modern touch will no doubt bring many new players into the fold. They won't be disappointed.
