Demon's Souls Review and Preview

Ace Gamez is offering up a glowing review of an import version of Atlus' Demon's Souls, while GamingBolt has previewed the upcoming North American version.

The review concludes with a perfect 10/10:
There are quibbles about class homogenisation towards the end game and heavy armour not being worth the bother, but in the grand scale of things it simply doesn't matter. Hell, save perfection for the sequel. While many may rush to brand it 'not for everyone', Demon's Souls should be recognised as something more; a compelling and ruthlessly well-crafted dungeon crawling romp with untold depth to excavate. Its appeal may be niche, but for those who appreciate a challenging and ultimately very rewarding game in a genre that's poorly represented not only on the PS3 but in this entire console generation, Demon's Souls is an absolute must have.

And the preview provides a quick summary:
You start by selecting a hero to save the kingdom and kill all the demon's, characters are fully customizable from choosing a hairstyle to selecting a class, you can choose to be a Knight, Priest, Thief, Magician, Temple Knight, Soldier, Wanderer, Barbarian, Royalty, or a Hunter.

The class you choose determines yours stats and equipment that you will play with, and each character starts with a soul level 1, as you progress through the game and kill demon's you will level up your soul level.
