Ghouls are creatures of the underworld, which prefer to haunt the ancient ruins to which they appear to have a mysterious connection. It is said that they were once humans evil humans who, after their (often violent) death, turned outwardly into the hideous monsters they were inside during their lifetimes.

Ghouls are agile, dangerous, and always hungry for meat; human flesh especially sets them slavering, and the sight of a bloody feast excites them into a feeding frenzy.
