Sacred 2: Fallen Angel Reviews

Another handful of less-than-enthusiastic reviews for Ascaron's Sacred 2: Fallen Angel are up and ready for your scrutiny.

The first is at The Guardian with a score of 3/5:
The action is viewed mainly from above, with your character battling through a cliched yet pretty fantasy world. Quests involve killing, fetching and escorting and the rewards allow you to upgrade your character's stats and gear. Simple, yes, but addictively effective. Online play works well too, with four players able to play together.

But there is a lack of polish; the tutorial is ineffective, and inventory management crucial in a game like this is woefully inadequate. But despite this, the lure of exploring a huge world with friends is hard to ignore.

The second is at NowGamer with a score of 7.4/10:
...it's hard to wholeheartedly recommend Sacred 2 to a hardcore 360-owning audience. Nonetheless, if you are of the opinion that the RPG genre just hasn't been the same since the turn of the millennium, it's an absolute must-have.

The third is at Boomtown with a score of 4/10:
Sacred 2 is an experience that gives a good first impression but falls apart under scrutiny. There are too many flaws to really recommend it and the only redeeming feature I could draw your attention to is that there exists comparatively few action RPGs for next gen consoles at the moment. As a multiplayer game, it can provide some entertaining moments with some like-minded friends. As a single player RPG, it is deeply flawed.

The fourth is at Console Obsession with a score of 7/10:
Sacred 2 may have its fair share of problems but they're not enough to truly get in the way of the games achievements, namely its vast world and the largely well executed fighting, looting and menu fiddling facets that make for such a highly addictive game. In spite of this, there's no getting away from the fact that, free of its problems, Sacred 2: Fallen Angel could have been something truly special.

And the fifth is at Pixel Verdict with a score of 2/5:
Sacred 2: Fallen Angel fails in so many respects, it's really impossible for me to recommend it to anyone of sane mind. On the other hand, if you do get slightly insane when people string together words like, (Longsword of Slaying +5″ and the idea of exploring every corner of a colossal fantasy world makes you drool just a little bit, well maybe, just maybe, you'll squeeze some enjoyment out of this lemon.
