Sacred 2: Fallen Angel Reviews

Reviews for the console versions of Sacred 2: Fallen Angel continue to trickle in, with three more appearing today.

The first is at GameShark with a score of "B+":
In the 48 or so game hours I spent with Sacred 2, I suffered three hard lock ups, two nasty glitches that prevented my hero from moving until completely turning off the console and reloading, and several quests that were bugged and wouldn't finish even though I had done all that was required. No game killers, (and there is an auto save) but there are enough stumbles in the game to be noticeable.

Still, Sacred 2 works. The interface is slick and easy to maneuver, the graphics solid, and the gameplay familiar and yet open enough to allow you to breathe a bit. Sure, the Diablo formula gets stale after a while, and this is no exception, but if the game does nothing else it proves that this genre fits in perfectly on the console a pretty big achievement, really.

The second is at Total PlayStation with a score of 7.0/10:
If you like dungeon crawling and slaying hoards of wild boars in hopes of obtaining that Blowgun of Treasure Destroying, you're going to overlook all the negatives I've laid out here. In truth, I'm ignoring them as well. This game is fun. If it weren't for the limited local multiplayer and general lack of polish, it would be a lot more fun. A few meaty patches and this would be a must buy, but I don't see this game selling enough copies to warrant that kind of support. As it stands it really is hard to recommend at 60 bones. You owe it to yourself to at least give it a rental. There are better games to spend your money on this summer, but none that will scratch that random loot itch quite like this.

And the third is at Binge Gamer with a score of 4/5:
This game is good and a huge time waster (you may think you are going to play for a half hour, then a few hours pass by before you even know it. It is a lootwhore type action rpg set in those mythical times that I had just never experienced before. I can't say I would recommend this to everyone, but I really feel it is certainly a rental to see if this type of game would suit you. When it comes down to it, you take a quest, kill a bad guy, take gold/equipment, build up, then repeat this process.
