Overlord II Preview

The editors at NowGamer have provided us with a short preview of Triumph Studios' Overlord sequel.
All of the characters are recognisable from many a fantasy realm, but each has their own twist. The elves are tree-hugging hippies, the gnomes, belligerent little oiks, and the legionnaires of the glorious empire the main enemy force live in a carefree oblivion that makes them great fun to tear into. The main difference Triumph Studios has made to the gameplay is a tidying up of the game's mechanics. The minions are a fair degree smarter, the missions more varied and the control scheme a good deal easier to use, offering full command of the camera.

In terms of the mood of the second in the series, rather than the good/evil mechanic of the first title, you're offered an evil/diabolical balance, which will see you either destroying villages for immediate gain, or dominating them for a slow burn of power, as the villagers under your control offer tribute. Overlord II, in short, will give you a fair few reasons to re-evaluate the franchise if you're in need of persuasion.
