Fallout 3 The Pitt DLC Reviews

Reviews of Bethesda's The Pitt DLC continue to make their way to the web, and, for the most part, they're all at least somewhat favorable.

The first is at Koku Gamer with a score of 8.5/10:
Overall, The Pitt is an improvement over Operation: Anchorage. The more story-driven experience may annoy some but it is mostly a good design choice. The city itself looks fantastic and fresh and the items are all pretty awesome. The quest is still a lengthened side quest and won't take very long to complete but it does have a decent story and the ability to return and collect ingots extends the time. However, it's still pretty easy and bugs will rear their nasty heads every once in a while. But if you're a die-hard Fallout fan, this is still a must-buy. Otherwise, it's certainly worth your $10 and will be an enjoyable experience if your looking for something new to do in Fallout 3 if you don't mind it's blemishes here and there and certainly if you don't run into a lot of bugs.

The second is at That Gaming Site with a score of 6.9/10:
In the end, it is my recommendation that you skip The Pitt DLC for Fallout 3 entirely. Save your money for a game or expansion that received the developer attention it deserved. Bethesda's new attitude of (release now no matter what, patch it later) is destroying my confidence in the company. There was a time when I could purchase a Bethesda product and know without doubt that I was receiving the value I expect for my money. Apparently, that time has passed. Shame on you, Bethesda. You have the talent, you have the fan base, so put out the products that are worthy of your still respected name.

The third is at Big Download with no score:
Completing The Pitt add-on, no matter what side you choose, ends with two major rewards: A permanent boost in radiation resistance and unlimited access to the mill, which can convert scrap metal and unwanted ammunition into other types of non-energy ammunition. Both are great to have, but neither is game changing enough to compel people rush to download the add-on. Players will also be free to play item collection quests to earn rewards and boost karma. If you're a Fallout 3 fan and already explored every corner of the Capitol Wasteland, ten bucks will provide an extra few hours of entertainment. There are certainly worse ways to spend the time and money, and plenty of more satisfying options, but none will provide your Fallout 3 character with a nice Auto-Axe to run around with.

The fourth is at MLive with no score:
While far from perfect, The Pitt offers a fun and darkly humorous experience that should last you more than a few hours of play. If you want to see what shade of rust inhabits the Fallout universe pick this one up.

And the fifth is at Talk Game with no score:
Fallout 3: The Pitt is one of the best add-on missions yet that overshadows the first download even with its problems. The Pitt is a dark, hellish landscape and you will love every minute you are there. If you can look past the glitches, you are in for a wild ride that makes Fallout 3 an even better place to revisit.
