Fallout 3 Operation: Anchorage DLC Reviews

To go along with the new Fallout 3 reviews, there have also been some recent critiques of Bethesda's Operation: Anchorage DLC. First up is Gameplay Monthly with a score of "C-":
Once you've completed the whole scenario, which should roughly take two or three hours, you're rewarded with a few unique items, but if you're playing this after your playthrough of Fallout 3, those items are worthless. Operation Anchorage is a pretty disappointing first attempt at Fallout 3's DLC, where the pretense of it being a simulation seems to be enough excuse for Bethesda to half-ass their own game design. If you really enjoy the shooting elements of Fallout 3, I'd say give it a shot if you really wanted to play through a linear sequence of combat, but otherwise, skip this venture.

Then GameZone with a score of 7.9/10:
Fallout 3: Operation Anchorage is a nice diversion for gamers who loved the original game and are champing at the bit for more content. However, at 800 Microsoft Points ($10), it doesn't quite offer up a lot of content for more budget-concerned players.

Followed by OXCGN with a score of 6.5/10:
While adding new items to the game to take along your travels the actual content itself feels more like an intermission between quests in the core game itself.

I can't say that you will be short changed by the content however the linear maps, simple quests and lack of finer details makes this feel more of a tacked on component than expanding what is already there.
