Rise of the Argonauts Reviews

There's a wide range of deviation between the scores in the latest five reviews of Liquid's Rise of the Argonauts. The first is at OXM with a score of 8.0/10:
Rise Of The Argonauts might not be to everyone's tastes. The lead-footed opening combined with the need for more spit and polish means you endure rather than enjoy the opening few hours. You might think it's boring. You might think it's dull. But persist and you will enjoy this and hopefully, this will open other publisher's eyes to the fact that history exists beyond World War II and it doesn't always have to mirror the dry and dusty history we were taught in school.

The second is at Xbox 360 World with a score of 2.3/10:
Shame the skill trees and dedication processes are fiddly, and that adding skills apparently has zero effect on the gameplay. Throw in lengthy load-times, animation that judders when you walk, and a wailing soundtrack and you've got one of the Worst Games of 2009. Stick that on the box.

The third is at RewiredMind with a score of 2/5:
The game should have been a fine RPG that had some superb mythological and historical material to work with but the way in which that material has been used is not only confused, but is also downright confusing at times. Rise of the Argonauts isn't a total failure, but it certainly isn't a title that I can recommend.

The fourth is at Gameplanet with a score of 6.5/10:
To summarize, Rise of the Argonauts has short periods of intense, graphical combat interspersed with overly long periods of tedious travelling and talking. If you are in to Classical Greek history, like beefy men in short skirts and your women in togas then you'll enjoy Argonauts.

Unfortunately we felt there was a great game in this title, but sadly it is weighed down in tedium.

And the fifth is at Future Gamez with a score of 66%:
On almost every level this game is sub-par and is really only for, well, who knows. It's not hardcore RPG fans, it's not casual gamers, it's certainly not those that love eye candy. Actually, I know, it's one for the bargain bin!
