IGN's PC 2009 Predictions

The PC editors over at IGN have taken the time to conjure up some predictions about what announcements (and realizations) might be made this year. Another Blizzard-developed MMORPG, anyone?
Over the past two years Blizzard has rocked the gaming world with announcements related to existing franchises, so why stop now? In 2007 at Blizzard's Worldwide Invitational in Seoul, South Korea StarCraft II was unveiled for the first time. Last year, again at the Worldwide Invitational this time set in Paris, France, the company announced Diablo III and showed off first footage of the action-RPG title. Then last year, Wrath of the Lich King, the second expansion to Blizzard's World of Warcraft MMO, went live and it was revealed the game's subscriber base ballooned to 11.5 million. It seems, then, that Blizzard has covered all its traditional franchises, and another expansion to World of Warcraft is almost assuredly in the works alongside the two major sequels. We know Blizzard is working on a new MMO, that it represents something different for the company, and we're predicting we'll see some kind of announcement or confirmation of exactly what it is sometime this year.
