IGN's Overall Game of the Year 2008 Awards

IGN has finally revealed the winners of their top "Game of the Year" awards for 2008, and it looks like Fallout 3 cleaned up both the RPG and overall categories.
With some of the biggest franchises in gaming receiving sequels and a couple of strikingly good newcomers joining the party in 2008, Fallout 3 was not without proper competition. Ask around the IGN office and you'll hear 30 different reasons why the game is so good ranging from the shear amount of content to the excellent combat system to the well-crafted story. They all trace back to one underlying philosophy that makes Fallout 3 so fantastic: freedom. This is your Capitol Wasteland. It's up to you to decide what to do with it while you write your own story.
