GameZone's Game of the Year 2008 Awards

You can chalk GameZone up as the latest website to offer up a list of awards for 2008's best video games. It looks like Fable II went home with the "Best RPG" award, while World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King received the "Best Expansion" award. On Lionhead's win:
Dakota Grabowski: Peter Molyneux finally lived up to expectations and even surpassed them with his Fall 2008 hit, Fable 2. Armed with magic, a gun, a sword and a dog at your side, the world of Albion is yours for the taking. Gamers can expect to play through more Fable 2 goodness when the '˜Knothole Island Pack' hits the Xbox Live on December 22. One of the best titles of 2008, this is one game you should not miss out on when purchasing your next title on any of the platforms.

Steven Hopper: After the lofty expectations set for the first Fable game, which in some ways didn't fully live up to the enormous hype, it was pretty easy to see that Lionhead Studios would play the sequel's development pretty close to the chest. Luckily, the features that creator Peter Molyneux did promise to appear in Fable II made the cut, including a dog companion and deep morality-based gameplay that seldom is as black and white as in other games. The end result was a wonderfully conceived RPG with fantastic art direction, a great sense of humor, and engaging gameplay that will keep you involved from start to finish.
